Since the early versions of Authentium's anti virus solutions in 1992, the Authentium team has done an amazing job producing high performance, world class anti virus products in a very competive market place.

1980's

The Emcee was Command Software's first product. It is a custom menu system and audit trail that was voted the top menu system under $100 by the INFOWORLD review board. It was also honored as one of the top 100 products of 1988 in all classes. The Emcee was just the first example of our commitment to excellence.

1990's

Around the end of the 1980's, security emerged as a priority issue, and Command's customers began asking for solutions to help protect against emerging threats, such as computer viruses. Command enlisted them as "technology partners" and developed the comprehensive security module known as Security Guardian. This total security package, featuring nine different access levels, grew to become one of the top-selling programs of its day.

Later, in order to serve an even broader computing base, Command released a subset of Security Guardian called FREEZE!! This small boot protection module still protects thousands of PCs all over the world.

In late 1991 Command's team of developers created F-PROT Professional, a ground-breaking antivirus product designed to utilize heuristic virus scanning methods to catch previously unknown viruses.

In order to offer complete client/server protection for Novell networks we created NET-PROT, a NetWare Loadable Module, in 1993. To better serve customers with multi-server systems, F-PROT Professional for NetWare was developed in 1995, featuring streamlined deployment.

2000's

Authentium and Command's team of developers are hard at work creating the new standard for integrated desktop security - Curtains for Windows.

In addition to Authentium's authentication, content filtering, mail filtering, and PC security technology, Curtains for Windows includes Command's proven heuristic virus scanning technology, Sygate's market-tested desktop firewall technology, and Surf Control core filters. Curtains for Windows, and desktopATM, our online banking product, are purpose-built to be compatible with VeriSign technology.

Today

NCSA certified for effective virus detection, Command Antivirus (F-PROT Professional) is still going strong, and things are about to get even better.

With the acquisition of Command, Authentium has put in place a series of strategic partnerships with leading-edge technology companies designed to breathe new life into the antivirus and network security sector.
